iOS 9 – What’s Coming?
With iOS 9 due to hit our iPhone, iPods and iPads late September due to previous release dates, we look a little closer at some of the new and improved features of the new update – are you looking forward to it? (we are!)
A new look Siri
Hot on the heels of Window’s Cortana and Google’s Go, Apple’s update included some tweaks for Siri, making him (or her) more personal and intuitive. Learning from your frequent uses and likes, Siri is also going to be 40% faster and 40% better at understanding what it is that you actually say.
A massive new plus point is that Siri will have the ability to check your emails for phone numbers when someone phones you who isn’t in your address book, and will display a name if applicable – very helpful!
Reminders are due to get an update with Siri able to schedule appointments and events, including the option to remind you to look at something later, such as a web page or location information.
Under the spotlight
Spotlight search is also due to be revamped with iOS 9 learning what apps you open the most and your phone usage and preferences in general. Another new feature will be the ability to have videos in your spotlight search, as well as playing them from spotlight.
New only for London is a Transport map which lists all of the directions and routes for London buses and underground, which could prove helpful for tourists and commuters alike!
